The Healthcare Career Exploration class was new this year and exposed students to a wide range of healthcare professions.
Students finished the semester by choosing one of the professions to research more in depth and did a fantastic job on their displays!

We’re hosting a wrestling tournament here and basketball games in the arena at 3:00. The gym must be cleared quickly, so please don’t linger. Help with chairs is welcome!

NEC Wrestling will start at 4:00 PM in the Old Gym.
Basketball with West Central will begin at 3:00 PM in the Arena (with a rolling schedule - times are approximate):
- 3:00PM - Boys C
- 4:00PM - Girls JV
- 5:15PM - Boys JV
- 6:30PM - Girls Varsity
- 8:00PM - Boys Varsity
The Main Gate will be used for Admissions for both:
- $6 Adults
- $4 Students
- Passes/Activity Tickets will be accepted

Each year our FCCLA chapter sponsors several local Angel Tree tags. This year these officers had a great time shopping for four kids and are so grateful to be part of making their Christmas a little brighter!

The Juniors and Seniors were able to listen to two presenters regarding the Build Dakota Scholarship. This is a full ride scholarship for eligible programs through our tech schools in South Dakota. Students in Mr. Donley's Technical Education courses are getting the opportunity to learn about heavy equipment operation using a state-of-the art Tenstar Pedestal simulator. The Groton Area School District is a member of the Northern Hi Tech Consortium, a group of schools that pool federal grant resources to purchase high-end industry grade equipment that rotates through the member schools providing our students with important opportunities for exposure to a wide-range of potential career paths.

The Sports Medicine classes spent the morning at Dakota Wesleyan University in Mitchell learning more about the structure of their exercise science and athletic training programs.
They got a tour, spoke with faculty and were able to ask questions to a student panel.
The Healthcare Career Exploration class switched gears today to learn about healthcare options in veterinary services from Dr. Heather Lerseth-Fliehs.
Learning and practicing suturing techniques was a highlight!
