The Groton Area School District is proud of its students, staff, community, and school board members. At the February school board meeting, they were presented with Certificates of Appreciation from the Associated School Boards of South Dakota for School Board Appreciation Week.

Grant Rix is in his tenth year as a member of the Groton Area Board of Education.
Grant says, "The measure of the health and strength of a community lies within the strength of the school district. It is important to keep our schools strong to keep our small communities and businesses thriving."
