On this date, 22 years ago - September 11, 2001 - our country was attacked seemingly out of nowhere as most of us prepared for and carried on with the normal activities of our day.
Nearly three thousand Americans lost their lives on 9/11/01 and, for over two decades, their loved ones have had to carry on without them and still thousands more would lose their lives in defense of our Nation through their military service in Afghanistan and Iraq.
In the midst of the horror witnessed on that day, our country also stood together with profound strength and unity and a commitment to defend and protect the greatest Nation in the world from further harm.
On this September 11, let us hold near the vow to "Never Forget" the events of that day over twenty years ago and those Firefighters, EMTs, Paramedics, Law Enforcement Officers, and members of our Armed Forces who put heroic service into action to save, protect, and defend.
Never Forget.
