FACS I
Grade 9
This
course is an elective to any student in high school.

Taking Charge
- a study on abstinence and career choices

- the construction of a sweatshirt
- use of sewing machine
Illustrated Talks

Preschool Child
Foods and Nutrition
The use
of group discussion, guest speakers, daily assignments,
tests, filmstrips, films, projects, and lecture will be used
in this course.
FACS II
Grade 10
This
course is open as an elective to any student in high school.
Units
covered are:
Foods and Nutrition
The Toddler Aged Child
Clothing Construction
Home Planning and Living
Furniture Selection

The
students are required to model the completed outfit that
they construct in a style show.
The use
of group discussion, daily assignments, tests, filmstrips,
films, and lecture will be used in this course.
FACS III
This
course will involve a detailed study of textiles and the
construction of a complete outfit which is modeled in a
style show. An elderly unit will cover information on old
age. Visits to a nursing home and funeral home are made
during this unit. The foods unit will include
demonstrations given by the student and various food
categories. A unit on marriage/single life and family will
be covered.
The use
of group discussion, daily assignments, tests, filmstrips,
films, and lecture will be used in this course.
FACS IV
Grade 12
In this
class most of the projects are done at the expense of the
students. Furniture refinishing, dried medium and flower
arrangements are covered the first semester. Second
semester is dedicated to a clothing/quilt project, food and
nutrition unit, and projects that prepare the student for
graduation. The students are required to model their
clothing project in the style show.
