COMPUTER EDUCATION
REQUIRED CLASS:
COMPUTER LITERACY
(Semester course)
This one semester course is required for graduation. The
course covers the basic use of the Internet. In addition,
it is an introduction to the fundamentals used with
Microsoft Office 2003. Students are exposed to Word, Excel,
Access, and Power Point. They use practical examples of the
computer as a useful tool throughout the class. The class
will also do projects that involve merging and embedded
objects with Excel, Access, and Word.

ADVANCED COMPUTER APPLICATIONS
Prerequisite: Computer Literacy (minimum grade of
C)
Grades 11 -
12
This one semester course will emphasize the usage of
computers beyond word processing. Topics to be explored are
Web site publishing and maintenance, using FrontPage, and
presentation software using Power Point. The students will
explore the use of a scanner, camera and sound. Other
applications include creating animations and Publisher. The
class will be exposed to various software packages made for
the manipulation of graphic images.
